The Mars Society

http://www.marssociety.org/

The Mars Society began in 1998 in Boulder, Colorado in an effort to "further the exploration and settlement of the Red Planet". The group is worldwide and has local chapters in many countries. You can also join or volunteer for the organization. A major aspect of the Mars Society programs is to educate the public and the websites Education Page provides the materials and tools to do just that. The Red Planet Pen blog asks interesting questions and provides answers that stimulate thought. The Society operates two research stations that are used by crews learning to live and work on another planet. Reports and images of these activities are available on the website. There is an annual convention, a quarterly magazine, an RSS feed and all the major social media inviting you to keep up with the many activities of The Mars Society.
